Requirements Of Maintenance Funds For Tier 4 Student Visa
The main applicant of a Tier 4 General student application must meet certain financial requirements in order to be awarded the necessary point. The applicant must have a minimum level of money to cover their course fees and support themselves. Applicants require 10 points from this section, or the application will be refused.
The amount which will be in the applicant account depends on the location of your institution(inside or outside london) as well as the length of course:

How long must the money have been in the account?
For applications made before 1st October 2009:
No minimum period. Applicants must demonstrate they have the required funds on the date of application.
For applications made on or after 1st October 2009:
The evidence produced form the bank must show that during the 28 days leading up to the date the evidence is generated, the balance has never dropped below the required amount. (Dropping below the required amount even for one days means the applicant does not meet the financial requirements).
More over if the course is more than 1 year then you also need to maintain the funds for total remaining fee which you need to pay after 1 year. It is not necessary for applicants to maintain the funds for the remaining fee in their own bank accounts. |
